Dan Wheldon, a popular IndyCar driver from England, died in a fiery 15-car crash early in the IndyCar race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. Wheldon’s car became airborne and hit the catch fence only 12 laps into the 200 lap race. He was airlifted to a local hospital and his death was announced two hours later. Dan Wheldon was 33 years old.
